2012-2013

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kristina @ 9:48 pm

It’s been five years since i wrote something here about our crew…it’s time to get back with it! We are still on mission and have been-it looks a bit different than what we originally thought it may, most day to day events were logged in facebook accounts, but one day i’d like to compile all these posts into a family memory book, so here goes the attempt at catch up!

2012 Our son, Connor began his senior year at SSHS. He was very involved in soccer, theatre, (where he shocked us all by acquiring lead roles in every play he was a part of- He was Frank in Annie Get Your Gun, BunFoo-Thoroughly Modern Millye, Asa- Donivan’s Daughters), and VERY involved in the community through Fuel, (the youth group of Litz Manor church). Chris pastored LMBC through some interesting growth and challenge, many lives were changed and several set free in Christ. 2012/2013 is also the year i was Academic Booster Club President, in addition, the hats of Children Minister and Women Ministry coordinator at the church where God called us to revitalize- Litz Manor. All these hats as i look back were awesome to wear, however, a part of me was lost…writing this blog obviously was part of that loss, so here i am catching up on all things The Alford Crew. Connor’s senior year was also Cayden’s Kindergarten year! So a few more hats of homeroom mama, field trip chaperone, etc. were added.

The photo below of Connor and the beautiful young lady acting together, Lesley, was taken when we realized from afar-through a photo…this photo, that the two may just be together at some point in life…together-together!  More on that later… I’ll have to load the photos of him as Frank another day, but here are a few highlights of his and Cayden’s year:

2013 Connor graduated, VBS, vacation, community events like FUNFEST, concerts such as Gentleman of the Road-Mumford & Sons (Senior gift from us), and mission trips filled the summer! The truck featured in photos was his uncle Christopher’s, passed down to Connor for his 18th birthday and graduation gift in April of 2013.

2013/2014 catch up will continue in the next post!

~Gratitude Tree Time~

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kristina @ 1:02 pm

What are you grateful for?

Who are you thankful for?

How have you been unexpectedly blessed?

When have you taken the opportunity to give to someone else?

Write these things on a name place card or use your scrapbook pages, scissors and hole punch to hand-make some gratitude cards then hang them on your Christmas tree beginning November 1. Another great idea is to place them in a photo holder or simply on the door/window trims around your home. Then at your Thanksgiving dinner pull them down and have  family member(s) read them aloud. It is great way to stay focused in all the hustle and bustle of the season leading to Christmas.

Spring/Summer of 2010

So in the last post i shared what we all were up to, but i failed to show you our most recent fam pic! Of course i have to say thanks to the Anglens one more time, they rock! We went to the session with the intent of just getting the boys photos done, but there was time to throw us in a few, i’m not sure this particular photo was planned, but they always catch is being us! Check out their website, http://www.anglenphotography.com, we have never been disappointed with their work, it is well worth the investment to have them take our photos this year!

Thanks for stopping in!

The Alford Crew is looking forward to sharing more updates as the path is lit for our fam in the months and years to come! We love being on mission where we are right now, we are enjoying the mission trips we have taken and are full of anticipation about partnering with each of you to expand the Kingdom!
