~Why have rain boots?~

Filed under: Family, Favorite Things, Funny Stuff — Kristina @ 2:12 am

Why have rain boots if you never wear them and why wear them if you never stomp in a puddle? I say stomp. Let your kids stomp in a puddle, for that matter, play in the rain peeps, enjoy it!

Okay, so it rained, there was a puddle…i thought, why not? “Cayden you want to splish splash in the puddle?”

His Great Aunt GaNell, bought these boots so we thought we would get her money worth!

“Come splash w/me mommy!”

Been scrolling through some 2008 photos again and here is the  littlest Alford man of the household in some more mischief…

It’s funny, when Connor his big brother got into things i didn’t have a camera always near by…except once i did capture a pic of him dumping a whole box of Rice Krispies on his head and all over the parsonage kitchen floor we were living in at the time…

So here is Cayden having fun (for all ocd mamas out there…don’t worry, i was watching him very well-no strangling hazard here!)

cords, cords, cords!

cords, cords, cords!

hey! how long you been watching me?

~On the 12th Day of Christmas~

My First Love gave to me;

Twelve Drummers Drumming…

This part of the song is to remind us of what has become widely known as ~The Apostles Creed~

12 key parts of Christianity doctrine are listed in the apostles creed listed below…
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son,our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

For some light hearted fun our family found this video on you tube and thought it was neat, this group is great at what they do and make singing/performing look like so much fun.

This is the day that we as a family exchange gifts and have a feast, bringing the season of Christmas to a close…well…we will technically attempt to keep the reason we celebrate true Love and Life (Jesus) in the heart of our daily life and all our family celebrations through out the 2009 Year! Please continue to keep our family in your prayers, we will certainly do this for you our family, friends and partners in building God’s Kingdom. Here we are on Dia De Los Reyes! Hope ya enjoy the pics!

Go caroling…

“Hmmm”, you may say.  “Kristina has lost it! She wants me to go caroling!”  😉

Why not?  I’m not saying go and harass your neighbors.  Simon from American Idol won’t be waiting on a panel of judges at the corner of your street…sing!  Make sure ya get a few friends who are in the mood for some fun and laughs and just go.  You never know how many neighbor’s and strangers hearts might be warmed from your efforts.

I am pretty sure the Bible has something to say about making a joyful noise.

You could organize a Christmas Caroling Party:

go to type in how to organize a Christmas Caroling Party and have fun!

Matthew 2:13

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

~December 10~

Filed under: Devotional, Family, Funny Stuff, General — Kristina @ 6:45 pm

Well, this is my favorite day in December! Our second son Cayden was born this day two years ago! This day reminds me of miracles in addition to the miracle of Jesus coming to earth and His birthday years ago. Chris and i thought that Connor would be our only child. For years we would hope, people would ask questions like “so when are you having Connor a brother or sister?”- “when are you going to give me another niece, nephew or grand-baby?” After a couple of miscarriages, it just seemed as though it would be just us three. I was personally determined to not allow myself to be in the “family way” as my sweet Momaw would call it…for fear i would lose another precious little one.

11 years later…we had our own little drummer boy!

As i said, Cayden is now 2 and absotively, posilutely…TERRRIFFFIC!

The cake is technically cupcakes shaped into a snowflake…he really liked them as you can tell.

Finger lickin’ good…mmm…

“Cake all gone Mimmi”, says Cayden…”murrre?” (more?)

Did you know that Hebrew people believe 10 to be the perfect number?

…i tend to agree, i think it is great!

2008chrtreadvnt10The challenge today is interesting: Forgive someone you believe has wronged you—in your heart, with a letter, or go in person. It could be the best gift that person receives…then write yourself a note of forgiveness, forgive yourself for holding onto something that you have blamed yourself for. No one on earth this day and time  is perfect, it may just serve you well to go and ask someone you have wronged to forgive you…that is so difficult, i recently had to do that, talk about swallowing some humble pie, i was stuffed!  It was so worth it though.

Since we’re on the “perfect” note: There is nothing more perfect than forgiveness. Think about it…Jesus’ primary objective was obedience to His Dad, forgiveness being given and reconciliation for us to our Heavenly Father…a wholeness like no other.

Matthew 2:7-8

Then Herod called the Magi (wise men) secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
